Ukraine Blocks Access to Polymarket, Citing Unlicensed Gambling Concerns
Ukrainian authorities have moved to block access to Polymarket, a cryptocurrency-based predictive markets platform, equating its operations to unlicensed online gambling. The decision underscores regulatory scrutiny over platforms where users stake funds on uncertain outcomes.
The National Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries added polymarket.com to its registry of banned resources, enforcing DNS filters and network restrictions. This action follows a December 2025 resolution targeting unlicensed betting operations.
Tennessee regulators recently took similar action against Polymarket's sports prediction markets. The crackdown highlights growing global regulatory friction with crypto-powered prediction platforms that blur lines between financial markets and gambling.
